CCP, remember the times when travel made 80% of gameplay and you still insisted that "Warp to 15km" was a great idea?
Good times.

I play EVE 8 hours a day.
Every day.
So should everyone else.

Yes, but it's a thing we're still not happy with the state of. We're going to discuss this specific issue more tomorrow, with the aim of coming up with a reasonable solution that deals with the newbie use case without opening the door to more general problems. Stay tuned for more info.
I really know very little about sov mechanics, but if I take your station and don't revoke your clone contracts (assuming that's possible), how exactly are you going to leave that station? |

If any newer players ever wondered why EVE is alternatively called "spreadsheet online" - now you know :) |

I am still waiting for moment when CCP realizes that many capital pilots played the game because flying capital ships allowed them to play the game without being stuck in front of screen for hours.
That will probably occur to them sometime between December and February. |

EVE online, where your misstake will be painfull. Adapt or die and all that stuff... So new player rentention my ass? The guy will quit because he misses ONE fleet op after making misstake?
You are missing the point.
CCP has tried sadistic approach before, it didn't work out.
They are trying it again.
CCP has a history of often "fixing" the game by making things harder.
I am sure there are quite few masochists that consider anything hard/boring as being cool, but it doesn't work that way in real/commercial world.
CCP is about to find that out.
Again :)

Remember also this is the first set of changes. That means while you are looking at this and going 'omg x..y... and z will be harder" there is a chance, a very good chance, that CCP has changes that will make x..y.. and z.. be trivial after they are all implemented. This was just the easiest change they can do. And after looking at metrics due tot eh 6 week cycle they will have time to modify and adjust or eve roll back if it sucks. The point is to take a chill pill and wait till its on tq before you fully judge if it will work or not.
And this reminds me of the old saying, everyone who for years complained about force projection and wanted ccp to fix it, be careful what you wish for.
Do you realize that they maybe spent a day thinking about these changes before making a devblog here?
They didn't even think about some most basic issues, embarrassed themselves, and you expect that they have some good/better changes already planned, for the future?
Heh. |

If you're going to quit the game over these changes. I call dibs on your stuff.
I can not imagine the thought process in your tiny little head that converted my post into "I will quit the game over these changes".

I predict the bigger null sec alliances will move close to high sec like goons will move to ec-par in cloud ring and base out of there and then leave the deep space so small fish like me and you will get to deep space...how? Wormholes. Also jumping across enemy territory into quiet systems with scouts and then jumping on to the next inevitable empty system towards deep space? Guys in null will cope, atleast the inventive non-sheep will do.
I can understand that CCP employees sometimes forget that EVE is not a full time job for everyone, but I am quite amused by number of players that treat EVE as a full time job, and expect others to do so too.
That's quite cute. |

The highlight of this thread, without the doubt, are these 5-6 grrgoon high-sec mission runners drowning in their spit.
